Joe Biden’s Pentagon is firing officials appointed by President Trump. In a press briefing on Tuesday, a DOD spokesperson confirmed that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered hundreds of members of the Pentagon advisory board to resign.

This came in an effort to block dozens of President Trump’s appointees from fully settling in to their roles. However, the mass purging avoided the DOD selectively firing all of President Trump’s appointees.

“The frenetic activity that occurred to the composition of so many boards in just the period of November to January deeply concerned the secretary and certainly helped drive him to this decision,” John Kirby, Pentagon spokesperson stated.

Now, all affected members have until February 16 to step down from their roles.
