Lead impeachment manager Jamie Raskin made a grossly false claim about the January 6 protest in his doctored video targeting President Trump. His video falsely claimed “at least seven people lost their lives.”

In reality, four people died during the clashes, according to the D.C. Police. Additionally, Officer Brian Sicknick died afterwards, which brought the total death toll to five.

Raskin’s video also omitted President Trump’s call for peace in which he made before the U.S. Capitol takeover.

“I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol Building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard,” stated the 45th President.

Republican members of Congress said this statement acquits him of all impeachment charges because he explicitly said any action by protesters must be peaceful.

They added, the doctored video presented by Raskin serves a clear partisan purpose to prevent President Trump from running for office in 2024.
