Harvey Weinstein Ill and Was Tested for COVID: Reports
TMZ first reported he'd been tested for the coronavirus on Tuesday morning, and that he'd been placed in isolation pending the outcome of those tests.
The convicted rapist was awaiting results at a prison in upstate New York, a source said, according to Post reporting.
“We can confirm that Mr. Weinstein has a fever and is being closely monitored by the excellent medical staff [at the Wende Correctional Facility] for which the entire legal defense team is grateful,” his representatives said in a statement.
If he tests positive, he'll likely be moved to the prison hospital, TMZ said. It also noted that he has had a history of health issues, which, along with his advanced age (68), would place him at a heightened risk from the virus.
