Congress Considers Stopgap Bill To Avoid Gov’t Shutdown

Lawmakers are scrambling to avoid a government shut down and to pass the annual government full-year funding bill.

According to reports, leadership in both the House and Senate are mulling over the possibility of a week-long stopgap bill, known as a continuing resolution.

The December 11 deadline to pass the legislation is quickly approaching. Lawmakers are considering to include a long-awaited COVID relief in the funding bill to expedite the lengthy negotiation process.

“Again, we want to have it on the omnibus,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said. “And we’re hoping that that will accelerate the discussion on the omnibus, so we are going to keep the government open.”

The continuing resolution would extend the congressional lame-duck timeline, changing it to December 18.

Tulsi Gabbard says impeachment of Trump would be 'terribly divisive' for country

As many of her House Democratic colleagues decided to back the impeachment of President Donald Trump, Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard on Tuesday said she doesn't support the move because it would be "terribly divisive" for an "already very divided" United States. "Look, my position remains the same.                   INTRODUCTION In the history of syntax, prepositions alongside other parts of speech are considered as one of the esteemed contributions of the sophists (the itinerant teachers) to the development of the human language. Etymologically, the term “preposition” belonged to the group of word class Aristotle, the founder, referred to as “syndesmoi”. Others in this group are conjunction , article and pronoun . They were thus grouped by Aristotle because they were found to be performing related functions that are summed up in binding terms and exposing the gaps amidst sentences when they are not included. As a plural term, “syndesmoi” is a collective noun that stands for the group while, conjunction , the part of speech that binds together the discourse and finds gaps in its interpretation was called “syndesmos” (see Robins, 1968).
