Democrats in the upper chamber are continuing to push forward with the next stimulus package, even without Republican support.

On the Senate floor Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) voiced the urgency in getting relief to the American people, saying it’s a top priority. Schumer said he plans to do so through budget reconciliation, which can expedite passing the vote without GOP support.

Schumer added he won’t allow the process to be delayed, urging his colleagues to think big and quick.

“So again, we are not going to dilute, dither, or delay because the demands of the American people are so real and so large,” Schumer stated. “We need to think big and think quickly.”

This all came after a joint budget resolution was filed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Schumer.

This is just the first step in the budget reconciliation process to pass Joe Biden’s massive $1.9 trillion relief package.
