What happened? The Met Police said officers were called to a stabbing at a premises near the bridge in central London just before 14:00 GMT. Two members of the public are dead while a number of others were injured, some seriously. Videos on social media show people wrestling a man to the floor who then disperse before he is shot by an armed police officer. Another man in a suit and jacket can be seen running from the suspect, having apparently retrieved a large knife. A separate video has also emerged showing police officers aiming guns at a white lorry that jack-knifed across the bridge. A twenty-four-year-old South African police constable, Austin Luciano Reynold, has been found guilty for killing a Nigerian Ebuka Okoli in Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal. Reynold is accused of killing Okoli by shooting him at close range and robbing him during an unauthorised raid on the community where he resides. He is charged with one count of murder and three counts of robbery. Appearing before Judge Shyam Gyanda on Friday, the accused was found guilty on all charges. The tide turned on him when his accomplice in the raid, Brinley Pallo turned state witness. Reynold’s sentencing was therefore scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2019. He faces at least 15 years in jail. Party insiders said the team comprised 75 people, more than half of whom were on fixed-term contracts that coincided with the election period. More than 20 others, some of whom have been in their jobs for up to five years, were called to a meeting on Friday and told their contracts would come to an end, according to one person present. The staffer, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Guardian the team had been working long hours, in some cases six days a week, through the election campaign, calling voters and urging them to support  Labour . PHOTO: Phill MAGAKOE / POOL / AFP A South African court on Friday dismissed former president Jacob Zuma’s attempts to appeal against a corruption trial in which he faces charges related to a 1990s arms deal involving France’s Thales. The High Court in the southeastern city of Pietermaritzburg ruled that “Mr Zuma’s leave to appeal is dismissed”. Zuma filed an appeal last month ahead of the initial October 15 trial date, in a case that has seen numerous legal turns over a decade and a half. He is alleged to have taken bribes worth four million rand ($270,000, 240,000 euros) related to a $3.4 billion arms deal in 1999 when he was deputy president. In all Zuma faces 16 charges of fraud, graft and racketeering related to the purchase of fighter jets, patrol boats and military equipment when
