Rand Paul, R-Ky., has apparently interrupted the Pentagon's plans of fortifying the Ukrainian armed forces on a regular schedule, as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war approaches a third full month. "On May 13, Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Russian Minister of Defense Sergey Shoygu for the first time since Feb. 18," Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said in a statement.  "Secretary Austin urged an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of maintaining lines of communication." Russia's Security Service (SBU) said Thursday that "experienced torturers" were being sent to quell an insurgency in the military and humiliate soldiers who refused to fight against Ukrainians, the  Lanka Times  reported.
