Video NY assemblyman slams Cuomo: ‘Absolute power corrupts absolutely’ New York State Assemblyman Doug Smith on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo facing sexual harassment accusations. New Yorkers  do not think that  Gov. Andrew Cuomo should resign amid dual scandals concerning sexual harassment accusations and undercounting nursing home deaths, but they don't think he should run for reelection either.  Fifty-nine percent of registered New York voters think the embattled Governor should stay in office, while just 40% say he should resign, according to a  Quinnipiac University poll  released Thursday.  Cuomo's approval rating has dropped precipitously amid the scandals, with just 45% of New Yorkers approving of his performance now, compared to 72% in the early months of the  coronavirus pandemic .  While New Yorkers think Cuomo should stay in office, 59% say he should not seek a fourth term in 2022.  Three women have  accused Cuomo  of inappropriate touching and offensive remarks in rec

Sen. Ted Cruz: Biden Opening Border for 'Murderers, Rapists'

Image
(Ken Cedeno/Pool via AP) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, eviscerated President Joe Biden's immigration policies Thursday, saying the administration is "moving rapidly toward open borders" in the "most radical immigration plan any administration has ever proposed in history." ''They have proposed allowing every single person who was deported from this country for the last four years to come back, and by the way, they don't make exceptions for criminals, for murderers, for rapists," Cruz told " The Michael Berry Show " on iHeartRadio. "I mean, it is utterly bizarre to have a federal administration refusing to enforce the law against violent criminals. "And frankly, it makes our country more dangerous. It makes Texas more dangerous." Cruz's remarks echoed the infamous "murderers and rapists" comments of former President Donald Trump, and even followed up with a similar "and some are very fine people." "

Sen. Lindsey Graham to Newsmax TV: 'I Don't Think Biden's in Charge'

Image
President Joe Biden was a moderate senator, but the administration implementing all these progressive policies in his first weeks in office shows it just is not him in charge, according to Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on  Newsmax TV. "I like Joe Biden, but the agenda is AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.], [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi, [Senate Majority Leader Chuck] Schumer, Sen. Bernie Sanders," Graham told " Greg Kelly Reports " of his former fellow senator Biden. "So, no, I don't think Joe Biden's in charge." Graham told host Greg Kelly, progressive policies on immigration, unwinding former President Donald Trump's Remain in Mexico policy for those seeking asylum, ceasing the border wall and the Keystone XL Pipeline, and a $1.9 trillion "liberal wish list" that has "nothing to do with COVID" are not something a moderate Biden would have supported as a senator. "And I think we're going to win in 2022, beca

Sen. Rick Scott: Dems, Biden Administration 'Hypocrites' on Border

Image
Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla. (Joshua Roberts/Getty Images) Sen. Rick Scott Friday slammed the Biden administration and Democrats as "hypocrites" over their immigration policy that continues to keep children in migrant detention centers.  "They are causing this problem by stopping the wall," the Florida Republican said on  Fox News' "Fox and Friends."  "They are opening up the borders and stopped the stay in Mexico policy, so now we have the poor migrant kids being left at the border by their parents and trying to get them to become citizens so the parents can become citizens." Meanwhile, Scott, who chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee, will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, in Orlando on Friday and said he will speak about how the Republican "civil war" has been canceled.  "We are not going to go backward," he said. "We are not going to fight within ourselves ... the Democrats a

Pelosi: Minimum Wage Hike Will Remain in House COVID Bill

Image
Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) speaks at a weekly news conference at the U.S. Capitol on Feb. 25, 2021 in Washington, D.C. (Al Drago/Getty Images) Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is vowing to keep the minimum wage hike in the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package when the House is expected to take it up on Friday. Her decision came after Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough ruled the wage hike  must be dropped  from a massive COVID-19 relief bill the Democrats are trying to speed through Congress. “The ruling from the Senate parliamentarian is disappointing, because raising the minimum wage would give 27 million Americans a well-deserved raise and pull nearly one million Americans out of poverty in the middle of a once-in-a-century devastating pandemic and economic crisis,” Pelosi said in a  statement. “House Democrats believe that the minimum wage hike is necessary. Therefore, this provision will remain in the American Rescue Plan on the floor.”  Fox News  po

Sen. Lindsey Graham: $15 Minimum Wage Would Kill Small Businesses

WASHINGTON, DC – FEBRUARY 25: Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) speaks during a U.S. Senate Budget Committee hearing regarding wages at large corporations on Capitol Hill, February 25, 2021 in Washington, DC. The committee is looking at why many low-wage workers in America qualify for public benefits even though thousands of them are employees of large corporations. (Photo by Stefani Reynolds-Pool/Getty Images) Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Democrat proposals to raise the federal minimum wage would hurt millions of small businesses across the nation. “There is just only so much money coming in the door and if you have to double the cost of paying a worker,” Graham noted. “You probably aren’t going to hire anybody else.” Graham pointed out a higher minimum wage would not pose a big problem for large corporations, such as Walmart or Costco. However, he said small family-owned bars, shops and restaurants would not be able to hire workers at $15 an hour. Meanwhile, the South Carolina sen

In a statement on Thursday, Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby confirmed multiple structures belonging to the Iranian-backed Quds Force were destroyed in a   U.S. airstrike. The attack was authorized by Joe Biden Thursday morning in response to suspected Iranian bombings on U.S. targets in Iraq. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who recommended the strikes, said he was confident they hit the correct targets. “We’re confident in the target that we went after, we know what we hit,” U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said. “And we’re confident that that target was being used by the same Shi’ite militia that conducted the strikes. And so, you’ll get more information in terms of the effects of the strikes as time goes by, b

(Andrew Harnik-Pool/Getty Images) A group of House Republicans are calling on FBI Director Christopher Wray to provide a briefing on any past ties that Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., had with an alleged Chinese spy,  Fox News reports. Axios reported last December that an alleged Chinese spy named either Fang Fang or Christine Fang targeted Swalwell and other up-and-coming politicians in California and helped to fundraise for the congressman’s 2014 reelection campaign, though she did not actually make a donation. "As our nation faces a growing security threat from the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) attempts to infiltrate and undermine the United States Government, we write to request a full briefing regarding counterintelligence threats to Members of Congress, including

Powerful Nigerians Brought In Bandits, Arms For Civil War Should Jonathan Remain In Power – Mailafia

Image
Former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Obadiah Mailafia, has said bandits were brought into Nigeria in 2015 by powerful people who wanted former President Goodluck Jonathan out of power. Mailafia said the powerful individuals intended to deploy the bandits for war if Jonathan did not concede the 2015 presidential election. Obadiah Mailafia The former CBN deputy governor also said there should be no amnesty for the bandits because they are only out to destroy, according to a Punch report. “During the 2015 elections, they brought in thousands of foreigners into this country, armed them because it was a case of if Goodluck Jonathan doesn’t surrender, there will be war. They were ready for civil war; they were not ready for peace,” Mailafia said. “Of course, Jonathan handed over to them and then they turned their backs on the hoodlums and the hoodlums said ‘look, you brought us here and we are still here’. “There are certain world powers that want to destroy our count

We Will Deal With Banditry, Insurgency – Buhari

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday said there will be no softening of the ongoing measures aimed at tackling insurgents, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminals constituting a threat to innocent citizens across the country. The President gave the warning through his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, during a security meeting of the Northern State Governor’s Forum and traditional rulers in Kaduna State. President Buhari admitted that the country is battling with different dimensions of security challenges, but added that he has asked the new Service Chiefs to devise new strategies that will end the ugly situation. Meanwhile, the Northern Governors have resolved to partner with the Federal Government and their Southern counterparts in tackling the challenges. Thursday’s meeting, which took place at the Kaduna state government house, came barely two weeks after governors of the Northwest zone held a similar meeting with the service Chiefs and the National Security Adviser

Against Moving Away From Trump Legacy As GOP Moves Forward

Image
President Trump met with top Republicans to have a “constructive conversation” over the future of the party. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is expected to meet with the 45th President at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida this weekend. Graham expressed concern that infighting could hurt the party’s shot at regaining the House and Senate majority in 2022. Additionally, mainstream media reports noted a potential  “rift” within the party between supporters of Trump and establishment Republicans, especially those who voted to convict him during the trial. This particularly came to a head when Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who voted to acquit President Trump, accused him of “dereliction of duty” following the trial. In turn, the 45th President vowed to endorse candidates of his choosing in Senate primaries, regardless of whether they line up with McConnell’s support. This sparked speculation that a split could be forming within the GOP. However, even Republicans who have be

(AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite) OAN Newsroom UPDATED 10:00 AM PT – Tuesday, February 16, 2021 Nearly all of the Republican senators who voted in favor of convicting President Trump during his impeachment trial are facing censures. Reprimand came quickly for Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) who was censured by Louisiana’s Republican Party shortly after President Trump was acquitted. While speaking to reporters Saturday, he claimed the President’s legal team had a luck-luster defense strategy. “President Trump’s team were disorganized, they did everything they could but to talk about the question at hand,” stated the senator. “And when they talked about it, they kind of glided over it almost as if they were embarrassed of their arguments.” In a Twitter post, the Louisiana Republican Pa
