IGBOTAKO IN ONDO STATE CELEBRATES UTAKO DAY IN GRAND STYLE

Tell me why this community in Ondo State insistently speaks Yoruba other than Igbo when the have proofs of all the historical features that defined them as a later Igbo emigrants? We have discussed their history succinctly in the paper Uju Festival in Igbo Land @ajuede.com. Utako day is the latest invented name for the rich cultural festival that embodies the etymological phase of the people of Igbotako as recent as from 2018.  Otherwise, this festival is traditionally marked out as " Aju Nkwu "  . The reason is simple, they are gradually writing themselves off from the commonwealth of the Igbo nation because of the Nigerian factor.

POLICE WARN ENUGU RESIDENTS AGAINST WONDER BANK OPERATORS

The Enugu State Police Command has warned residents against online fraudsters and fraudulent financial outfits. It said those who engage in such crimes employ several tactics to swindle various sums of money under the guise of high interests. In a statement on Sunday, the command’s spokesman, Ebere Amarizu, explained that fraudsters operate from rented apartments and run the outfit with plans to abscond with their victims’ money.  “According to intelligence information gathered, this group of mischief makers have deployed several antics through which their victims are swindled of various sums of money under the guise of investing such money on high interest yielding ventures,” he said. Amarizu added, “This group of mischief makers are said to be operating from a rented apartment and hire temporal staff to run outfits designed to double money paid by their victims and thereafter abscond with the deposits of their victims to an unknown destination.” He, therefore, advised

The synthetic opioid, blamed in health surveys for surging drug overdose deaths in the United States, has for decades concerned national security officials because of its potential widespread lethality in terror attacks, and in recent months, officials from DHS and the Pentagon have met to discuss an official WMD designation as a tool to disrupt the drug's widespread availability on the black market, the memo says. "Fentanyl's high toxicity and increasing availability are attractive to threat actors seeking nonconventional materials for a chemical weapons attack," the DHS assistant secretary for countering weapons of mass destruction, James F. McDonnell, wrote in the memo, which was obtained by the military

At least 207 people have been killed and 450 hurt in explosions at churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, police say. Eight blasts were reported, including at three churches in Negombo, Batticaloa and Colombo's Kochchikade district during Easter services. The Shangri-La, Kingsbury and Cinnamon Grand hotels and one other, all in the capital, were also targeted. A national curfew has been put in place "until further notice" and social media networks have been temporarily blocked. A foreign ministry official has said at least 27 foreign nationals are among the dead. Eight people have been arrested in connection with a string of deadly blasts that killed more than 200 people in Sri Lanka on Sunday, the country’s prime minister said. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said “so far the names that have come up are local,” but that investigators would look into whether the attackers had any “overseas links”.

Several homes were set ablaze in the renewed attacks on Wapan Naku and Ikyaior villages in Wukari Local Government Area. This is coming after bandits, on Thursday night, raided Garin Mai-dawa village in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State, killing one person, injuring over nine others. However, there was reprieve yesterday in Zamfara with the killing of seven bandits, which though resulted in the loss of a soldier, when troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Sharan Daji and Harbin Kunama III, engaged in a fierce encounter with the outlaws in Aljumma and Ketere villages in Zamfara State.
