BREAKING: ISWAP Terrorists Announce Presence In South-West Nigeria, Claim Responsibility For Attack On Police Vehicle In Ondo

According to ISWAP in a statement seen by SaharaReporters, the attack which was carried out by “soldiers of the caliphate” occurred in Ipele, Owo Local Government Area of the state. The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād says its men attacked a police vehicle in Ondo State.   According to ISWAP in a statement seen by SaharaReporters, the attack which was carried out by “soldiers of the caliphate” occurred in Ipele, Owo Local Government Area of the state. It claimed the fighters targeted an operational vehicle of the police with machine guns, which led to its damage. Ondo Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has lambasted the Federal Government of Nigeria, noting that the country cannot have two systems. In a statement on Thursday, Akeredolu reacted to the video showing the Katsina security outfit obtaining the approval to bear arms. The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday, said no party member can force the PDP’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, to resign. This is coming hours after the crisis rocking the PDP deepened on Wednesday as Governor Nyesom Wike’s team pulled out of Atiku’s campaign council.
