Lebanon reports record 1,006 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

Lebanon said it confirmed 1,006 new novel coronavirus cases and 11 deaths from the disease in 24 hours, in a new record for the crisis-hit country. The figures from the health ministry brought Lebanon's total tally since February to 29,303 Covid-19 cases, including 297 deaths. Thunder strikes kill 15 cows in Ekiti

Thunder on Saturday evening reportedly struck dead 15 cows at the outskirt of Ikogosi Ekiti community, Ekiti West Local Government area of Ekiti State. The incident, according to Asaoye of Ikogosi, Chief Ayo Ademilua, was a natural occurrence, which he said was strange in the town. Speaking with journalists via telephone on Sunday, Ademilua revealed that the incident happened at the Ikogosi Warm Spring site along Ipole -Ekiti road. Ikogosi warm spring has been a notable recreational and tourist centre, where warm and cold spring converge. The chief said the thunder was said to have struck during a torrential downpour that started around 4:00pm and ended at 6:02pm. “The whole town shook when the thunder struck. BREAKING: Edo Election Not Free And Fair, Says APC Candidate, Ize-Iyamu

Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Saturday's governorship election in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has faulted the process that led to the emergence of Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party as winner. In a post on his verified Twitter account, Ize-Iyamu claimed his supporters were prevented from voting. He said he was still studying the results along with other APC members and will announce his next move soon. “I thank and appreciate my supporters, who had to endure many evils including being prevented from voting, for their support and determination during the election. I assure you all that I am studying the results along with other party members and will announce my next move soon,” he said.  The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday declared Obaseki, incumbent governor of Edo, as winner of the election.
