Tactically, El-rufai Succeeding in Ending Western Education

Amnesty International has listed several attacks carried out by bandits and Boko Haram terrorists with school children abducted from schools in the North West and North East.

Highlighting the attacks, which include the abduction of Chibok schoolgirls in 2014; Dapchi schoolgirls in 2018, Kankara abduction of 11th December 2020; Kagara abduction of February 17, 2021; Jangebe abduction of February 26, 2021, among many others, the organisation noted that schools should be places of safety.

According to Amnesty International, no child should have to choose between their education and their life.

The organisation said this in its reaction to the recent abduction of students by bandits in Kaduna State.

DAILY POST reported earlier that suspected bandits, on Monday morning, stormed Bethel Secondary School, Maramara, Chickun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and kidnapped scores of students.

There are also reports of the kidnap of babies from a hospital in the state and abduction of over 10 women and all these happened within a few hours.

“Education is under attack in northern Nigeria. Schools should be places of safety, and no child should have to choose between their education and their life,” Amnesty International added in a tweet.

“Other children have had to abandon their education after being displaced by frequent violent attacks on their communities, and many teachers have been forced to flee to other states.”
