Arsenal vs Chelsea: Another Chelsea player leaves club after Batshuayi

Another Chelsea player, Robert Kenedy has left Stamford Bridge after the departure of Michy Batshuayi on Wednesday.

Chelsea confirmed this in a statement via their website ahead of their Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.

Kenedy left Chelsea to join Flamengo on a season-long loan after extending his contract with the Blues.

The statement read, “Kenedy has extended his contract with Chelsea and returned to Brazil on loan with Flamengo for the 2021/22 season.

“The winger will spend the coming campaign back in his homeland after completing his switch to Flamengo, who share the same Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro as his first professional club Fluminense. Flamengo are the current reigning league champions in both the national Brazilian Serie A and the regional Rio de Janeiro State Championship.

“Kenedy has been at Chelsea since 2015, making his debut in a Premier League match against Crystal Palace in August of that year and getting a goal and an assist on his first start, in a 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Walsall.”

Kenedy played the past two seasons in Spain on loan with Granada and Getafe, and has also spent time on loan in the Premier League with Newcastle United.
