Akintoye pleads with Tinubu, Benin President to release Sunday Igboho to bury his mother

The Yoruba Nation Agitation Groups, under the leadership of Emeritus Prof. Banji Akintoye, yesterday, urged President Talon of the Republic of Benin to release Sunday Igboho forthwith without further delay.

Akintoye, who mourned the passing of Mama Sikirat Abeo Adetunji Adeyemo, mother of the Yoruba Nation agitation rights activist, also pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to use available diplomatic channels to secure the release of the activist to enable him give his beloved mother a befitting burial.

In a statement signed by Dr. Isaac Okebiorunkosi, Dr. Olatunde Amusat and Mr. Kayode Emola on behalf of Akintoye, lamented the death of the community leader.

The statement reads in part: ”The detention of her son, Sunday Igboho, over two years ago in Republic of Benin, must have inflicted on her psychological torture, emotional trauma and profound mental agony, thereby having a deadly toll on her and hasting her to an ultimate passing to the great beyond.

”Few weeks ago, the Yoruba people, who constitute about one third of the entire population of the Republic of Benin, wrote a passionate letter to their President, seeking immediate release of Sunday Igboho.

‘Worthy of mention were a series of letters authored by Prof. Banji Akintoye and leaders of both Republic of Benin and Nigeria requesting for the release of Sunday Igboho.

                  INTRODUCTION In the history of syntax, prepositions alongside other parts of speech are considered as one of the esteemed contributions of the sophists (the itinerant teachers) to the development of the human language. Etymologically, the term “preposition” belonged to the group of word class Aristotle, the founder, referred to as “syndesmoi”. Others in this group are conjunction , article and pronoun . They were thus grouped by Aristotle because they were found to be performing related functions that are summed up in binding terms and exposing the gaps amidst sentences when they are not included.
