Oduduwa Nation Agitators Attempt To Disrupt Elections In South-West — IGP

There have been pockets of agitations by the Yoruba Nation protesters of late but the police have warned that no disturbance of public peace would be allowed. The IGP disclosed this during a meeting with strategic police managers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Monday. The state DG of the Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council claimed that the officers were using Hilux vehicles from the Rivers State Government House. The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said he is not responsible for an attack on the state Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council (PDP-PCC), Abiye Sekibo. The PDP campaign DG had alleged an assassination attempt on his life. Sekibo, a former Secretary to the Rivers State Government and Minister of Transport, said armed men, whom he accused of being police attached to the governor shot at the vehicle he was in. Bandits Kill DPO, Four Other Policemen In Niger

Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the incident in a statement sent to Channels Television on Sunday. He said the officers were able to repel the attack on a market in Munya LGA on Friday and also engaged the bandits during an attack on communities in Gurara LGA on Saturday. NORAD, which is tasked with protecting the airspace of North America, has detected a flying object at a high latitude above northern Canada. Military planes were dispatched to the area.
