Zaria Massacre a Case at Hand

Image
A united Kingdom-based Islamic advocacy organisation, Islamic Human Rights Commission, has called on the Nigerian Government to release Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat, who have been in jail since 2015 on baseless charges. IHRC disclosed this in its latest communication with the International Criminal Court regarding the Zaria massacres of 2015. Recall that the London-based Islamic group had earlier dragged President Muhammadu Buhari, Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, to the ICC over the December 12 to 14, 2015 massacre of members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. The organisation accused El-Rufai of compromising the commission of inquiry his government set up to investigate the Zaria killings by demolishing the properties of the Shi’ite group days after the incident. It also asked the ICC to investigate former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, and late Emir of Zaria, Shehu Idris, for human rights violation and crimes against hu

Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has remained a diplomatically sensitive topic and as a result, most countries have placed their embassies in Tel Aviv. But a number of countries have indicated that they could relocate their embassies to Jerusalem including; Honduras, Brazil, Serbia and the Czech Republic. Kosovo, which does not have an embassy in Israel has spoken of opening one in Jerusalem. #EndSARS: Ethnic Clinsing in Obigbo

Image
Governor Nyesom Nwike who, in JS2, changed his name to "Wike" has conspired with the Fulani led Nigerian government to wipe out every trace of the individuals residing in Obigbo on account of what he referred to as civil disobedience. Wike announced a ban of #EndSARS protest in Rivers State and immediately connived with the Fulani jihadists imported into the state during the Covi-19 pandemic to attack them. One person was killed by the Fulani and the community retaliated. With  this, Wike was provoked. Presently, the inhabitants of Obigbo has been cleared and the remnants fleeing to a safer heaven. Meanwhile, Wike has renamed the place Oyibgo with a handful of his Fulani friends occupying it. This is inhuman!  this is animism!! This is barbaric!!! We call on the UN to witness the ethnic clinsing experienced in Obigbo, in Rivers state. Follow us on twitter (ajuede.com) or on Instagram (ajuedeman) for details of the global situation presently.

Protests in Syria have gotten more serious, where protesters have not only protested against France but have held up the 18-year-old who beheaded a French teacher as a hero. The murder of the teacher, who was accused of showing a cartoon in class, led to France cracking down on extremists. This was then exploited by Turkey’s pro-Muslim Brotherhood government to claim France was “anti-Islamic” and to curse its president Emmanuel Macron.   The tense atmosphere in Syria illustrates how extremists, some of whom appear to support ISIS or ISIS-linked ideologies

(photo credit: US STATE DEPARTMENT/ REUTERS) As the lessons of the JCPOA suggest, weaponization is very difficult to define and monitor, so it requires a catch-all plan that also focuses on the regime’s past activities. In 2018, after US President  Donald Trump withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, calling it “the worse deal ever,” Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, vowed never to renegotiate another nuclear deal with the United States. The Iranians understand that if Trump is reelected, they may have no choice but to reengage in negotiations with the United States. Based on his recent statements, including some uttered during the peace ceremony between Israel, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, Trump appears eager to get back to the negotiating table. And he may even try
