I mean, they decide, they close the war," Ze'ev Palti said. Ze'ev Palti, the former head of the  Mossad  intelligence directorate, warned that he does not know how long it will be before Iran’s new leader decides whether to continue on his father’s path or change course toward a bomb in an interview with 103FM on Tuesday. The United States and Iran agreed to a framework agreement on Sunday that is expected to advance negotiations between the two sides. Palti, who previously headed the Mossad’s intelligence directorate, laid out his vie...

Pence bashes Trump's US-Iran deal

Image
Former US Vice President Mike Pence slammed US President Donald Trump's controversial Memorandum of Understanding with Iran on Wednesday in a post on X/Twitter. In the post, Pence called out the deal for not covering Iran's nuclear or ballistic missile programs, or its proxy terror organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah. He also criticized the fact that the deal would grant Iran billions of dollars in unfrozen assets, sanctions relief, and reconstruction funds. "The reported MOU with Iran smacks of the kind of appeasement that we saw during the Obama years, the kind of appeasement that Joe Biden tried to accomplish and was ignored by the Iranians, and the kind of appeasement we categorically rejected during the first Trump administration," Pence wrote.

Appellant Court Takes Reply from MNK for the Last Time Before Court Takes Seating

Image
Following the debriefing of his legal team led by Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu firmly announced his intention to personally handle his own defense. The trial court accepted this waiver of counsel, asked if he wanted an assigned lawyer, noted his rejection, and then proceeded. Now that the case lies on appeal, the deeper, central question the Court of Appeal must confront is this: Can a defendant facing charges that carry the death penalty legally waive his right to counsel under Nigerian law? The short answer is no. In allowing Nnamdi Kanu to represent himself in a trial involving capital offenses, the learned trial judge unarguably committed a fatal fundamental error in law. Under the Nigerian criminal justice system, the right to legal representation in capital offenses is not a luxury the defendant can decline; it is a rigid and mandatory constitutional safeguard that the court has an absolute duty to enforce, even against the explicit wishes of the defendant. At first...

Trump says he considers the Lebanon war a minor one, and an arena in which Syria can take on Hezbollah in partnership with the United States if Israel under Netanyahu cannot be reigned in. "Israel's fighting Hezbollah for too long, and too many people are being killed. You don't have to knock down an apartment house every time you're looking for somebody because there's a lot of people in those apartment houses and they're not all Hezbollah, that I can tell you," the president said

(photo credit: 2026 PLANET LABS PBC/Handout via REUTERS) Israeli satellites photographed Iran a jaw-dropping over 50,000 times during the around 40-day  Operation Roaring Lion ,  The Jerusalem Post  has learned. This statistic would mean that Israeli satellites were taking well over 1,000 photos per day of the Islamic Republic during the war. It also dwarfs the around 12,000  satellite  photos that Israel took of Iran during the June 2025 war, according to the Defense Ministry. Even those 12,000 photos captured tens of millions of square kilometers of Iranian territory through both day and night. This means that Israel likely captured more than a hundred million square kilometers, if not hundreds of millions, during the recent war.

The leaders of the Group of Seven wealthy nations are due to arrive at a French lakeside resort on Monday amid unease among allies over President Donald Trump’s tariff threats and questions about the U.S. commitment to the global order. Discussing the next steps on Iran after the U.S. and Tehran said they had reached a preliminary deal to end their war will be one of several issues the global leaders will wrestle with during the June 15-17 G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains. They will also seek common ground on the war in Ukraine, tackling global economic imbalances and sourcing critical minerals outside of the dominant supplier China. Trump is due to arrive at a time when global leaders are increasingly wary of the United States, although French officials were glad to have secured his presence after he left last year’s G7 summit in Canada early.
