Rubio says US will not follow UK move against West Bank settlements
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday that the United States would not follow the United Kingdom in imposing new measures related to Israeli settlements in the West Bank, while warning against actions that could destabilize the area.
The US "doesn't want to see anything destabilizing going on right now on the West Bank," Rubio said.
"We're not going to do what the UK did today regards to the West Bank but I don't have any comment on it," he added.
The UK announced on Tuesday that it would move to ban trade in goods from Israeli settlements in the West Bank, alongside France and Canada, as part of a broader international push against settlement expansion.
