Turkey agrees to hand over military base to Iraq

Turkey agreed Wednesday to gradually hand over control of the Bashiqa-Zelikan military base near Mosul to the Iraqi government as Ankara and Baghdad move to eliminate the presence of “outlawed armed elements” in Iraq. 

The agreement followed a meeting between Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the two leaders said in a joint statement. 

Under the deal, Turkish forces will transfer the northern Iraq installation to Baghdad “in accordance with the agreed-upon mechanism and timeline” and security measures being implemented by the Iraqi government.

                  INTRODUCTION In the history of syntax, prepositions alongside other parts of speech are considered as one of the esteemed contributions of the sophists (the itinerant teachers) to the development of the human language. Etymologically, the term “preposition” belonged to the group of word class Aristotle, the founder, referred to as “syndesmoi”. Others in this group are conjunction , article and pronoun . They were thus grouped by Aristotle because they were found to be performing related functions that are summed up in binding terms and exposing the gaps amidst sentences when they are not included.
