BEFORE the Israeli raid on Gaza’s biggest hospital, Al-Shifa, Israel had accused Hamas of maintaining a command and control structure through multiple tunnels and secret facilities underneath the hospital. It didn’t make sense at all by then, especially when the actual builders of the hospital came out to say there are no tunnels or anything relating to HAMAS there. But Israel insisted and the U.S. only urged caution. Well, days ago, the US intelligence corroborated Israel’s claims and said that Hamas indeed has its command and control structure in and underneath that facility. Israel, after waiting days and sometimes assisting with evacuations, eventually carried out a raid of the hospital and those haunting images began streaming out. As expected, the outcry is overwhelming.   Nnamdi Kanu's family has cried out for help.   The family of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB said the Department of State Services, DSS, is still denying family and his lawyers access to the agitator.   This is coming a week after the family raised similar allegation.   Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, who raised the alarm Thursday, said he went to the DSS headquarters Abuja to visit the IPOB Leader but was stopped by the secret police from having access to him.   Prince Emmanuel who spoke with Vanguard said the family was no longer comfortable with the development.   He said that the attitude of the DSS was suspicious, while raising fresh concern over the state of his deteriorating health.   The family wondered why the DSS would brazenly be violating court order which authorized the family and Kanu’s lawyers to visit him twice a week.   Kanu’s family said the Nigerian Government should be held responsible if anything happens to their son

IDF soldiers recover body of Hamas hostage found near Al-Shifa Hospital Israeli Defense Forces say they found the body of a hostage taken in Hamas's Oct. 7 attack on Thursday. Israeli forces say they  found Yehudit Weiss' body  in a building adjacent to the Al-Shifa Hospital, which Israel says Hamas had been using as a headquarters until early this week. The IDF did not offer any details about Weiss beyond her name, but noted that her family has been contacted. Soldiers searching the building say they also found military equipment including Kalashnikov rifles and RPG's inside. Weiss was one of roughly 240 people taken hostage by Hamas duirng its Oct. 7 massacre in Israel. She is now among a small number of hostages confirmed to have been killed since Israel's war on Hamas began.
