Ayalon began the interview by citing recent reports on the relationship between  US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu . Zamir noted the significance of Israel having taken the Beaufort area from Hezbollah's control, saying it was "saturated with terrorist infrastructure." Zamir emphasized that the agreement with Lebanon would not have been possible without “the courage of our soldiers and the operations led by Northern Command."

(photo credit: SAUL LOEB / AFP via Getty Images) Israeli Ambassador to the United States  Yechiel Leiter  said Israel’s framework agreement with Lebanon depends on conditions on the ground, not on a fixed timetable for an Israeli withdrawal, while warning that statements by Israeli politicians could damage Jerusalem’s standing in Washington. Leiter, who led Israel’s delegation in the negotiations that led to the agreement with  Lebanon , made the comments in a Thursday interview with the Jewish People Policy Institute’s podcast. He said Israel would not leave the security zone in southern Lebanon until the Lebanese army has full control over the entire area south of the Litani River and Hezbollah no longer has an armed presence there.

IDF working to strengthen ISF as it prepares for possibility of renewed Gaza operations

(photo credit: REUTERS/STRINGER) While the IDF’s Southern Command is preparing for the possibility that war against  Hamas  may be necessary to disarm the terrorist organization,  Walla  learned on Friday that the  International Stabilization Force  (ISF), the multinational force created to manage the security and governance situation in the Gaza Strip, has begun to receive military equipment to use in the disarmament efforts. According to sources in the Southern Command, in the past 24 hours, dozens of vehicles, some of which are bulletproof, were transferred to Gaza and handed over to American forces from the ISF’s headquarters in Kiryat Gat.

IDF reservist severely wounded during altercation with terrorist near Bint Jbail

(photo credit: IDF SPOKESPERSON'S UNIT) An IDF reservist was severely wounded on Thursday during an altercation with a Hezbollah terrorist in Bint Jbail in southern Lebanon, the military announced on Friday morning.  The soldier has been evacuated to the hospital to receive medical treatment, and their family has been notified, the IDF added. Following the incident, the IDF fired on the area to isolate it and remove the threat of any remaining terrorists.
