Chelsea news and transfers recap: Lampard boost, Solskjaer's Man United line up hint, loan done

Hello and welcome to the football.london Chelsea live blog.
Frank Lampard's side are looking forward to the season opener at Manchester United on Sunday after an encouraging pre-season.
Off the pitch, the Blues were quiet on deadline day thanks to their transfer ban other than a couple of loan deals, including Danny Drinkwater and Trevoh Chalobah, but players can still be sold and loaned out to clubs in Europe.
Squad wise, the return of a large number of players previously on loan means the likes of Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham are challenging for a place in the starting line up ahead of the season opener at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Here at football.london we will be keeping you on top of all the latest news and gossip surrounding the club.
