A Message to Gowon, "We died for Biafra not restructuring," Nnamdi Kanu
We died for Biafra not restructuring, Nnamdi Kanu replies Gowon.
The leader of the indeginous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to the recent statement credited to the former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, where he called on the Government of Mohammed Buhari to restructure the country.
Yakubu Gowon in his statement made it clear that restructuring seems to be the only solution to Nigeria’s numerous problems.
Gowon went ahead to say that Nigeria could only avoid further crisis if only the Government of the day would adopt restructuring.
Nnamdi Kanu on his own part has replied the former head of state, stating that restructuring is no longer an option for Biafrans.
According to him, the clamour for restructuring can be dated back to the first republic where the then Governor of the Eastern region, Col. Ojukwu and General Yakubu Gowon, the then head of state, reached an agreement in Aburi Ghana for through federalism.
“Yakubu Gowon is now talking about restructure, but let me warn you, what we died for is Biafra, not restructure. Is it not the same restructuring that Gowon and Ojukwu agreed on at Aburi?”, Nnamdi Kanu asked.
