The IDF struck and successfully killed a Hamas terrorist cell commander in the southern Gaza Strip overnight on Saturday, the military announced.

The Hamas commander was Muhanad Othman Yassin Farwana, whom the IDF stated was involved in advancing several attack plans against both Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, and who also posed an immediate threat to IDF troops.

The IDF also stated that, prior to a precise aerial strike against Farwana, steps were taken to mitigate the potential harm to civilians in the area.
