Multiple clashes were reported between a group of Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank town of Huwara, the IDF said in a statement on Saturday.

"IDF and Border Guard forces rushed to several locations in the Hawara area in the Samaria Brigade, following a report of suspected theft of sheep belonging to Israeli civilians, in order to remove the Israeli civilians and the sheep from the village and prevent friction in the area," the military said.

The clashes included incidents of stone throwing and the use of clubs between Israeli civilians and Palestinians, according to the IDF.

Army radio also reported that some of the settlers involved in the incident were masked and that several Palestinians were injured, something that was later denied by the IDF..
