Nadav Lotan is advancing a series of major changes to Israel's ground forces based on lessons learned from the October 7 attacks and the ensuing war, with a new plan focused on increasing the independence and operational continuity of brigade combat teams maneuvering deep inside enemy territory. At around 8 a.m., reports said that the IDF had opened fire with an attack helicopter and tanks at suspicious targets that had approached the Yellow Line. It later emerged that the target of the operation was Hamas's current leader in the Gaza Strip. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA director John Ratcliffe, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine all attended the meeting, according to the report. The report cited three US officials, who told Axios that "things were decided, or at least deeply discussed." The White House refused to respond to an Axios request for comment.
