The Trial of Simon Ekpa: Day 6 - Onyeji Nnaji
The court sat again in Finland, on the 3rd day of June, 2025, to try the PM. Simon Ekpa. On this sixth day of the trial, PM's lawyer, Kaale Gummerus, presented a witness for the first time.
As the court began, the prosecuting lawyer requested for permission to present the fourth witness against Simon; this time, the witness is coming from the Bureau of enterprise, the very people who had conducted the pre trial investigations of PM Simon Ekpa. But PM's lawyer objected to it and requested to present a witness for the first time, instead. This was granted and the witness codenamed "Peace" was presented to the court.
The witness revealed that he is a US citizen and a close friend of PM Simon Ekpa. According to him, they became friends since the day he joined the PRGI movement. He explained the group as the movement that is pursuing the freedom of Biafra through referendum. He also briefly explained the movement and Simon's roles in the movement.
Responding to his knowledge about Simon's personality, Peace related that Simon is a peace loving man who has received award from Finland in time past. He was still buttressing issues concerning Simon when the prosecuting lawyer nervously interrupted the proceeding with the request to cross-examine him. This permission was granted by the judge and he went on to cross-examine Peace.
This cross-examination didn't work out well as the witness was found well prepared and seemingly informed prior to the court seating to face whatever the situation would be like. The accuracy in his answers and the precision in his response made the prosecuting lawyer very nervous and he angrily backed out of the cross-examination.
The court ended in a sign of relief; no misconception or rile of any form, except the dissatisfaction found on the prosecuting lawyer through the answers which his impromptu questions brought on him. He was requesting a yes-or-no answer when his questions proved him truly unprepared. Peace gave him the answer the way his questions came and his became abashed.
We expect the witness from the Bureau of Enterprise in the next court seating. This witness may be a tough one since they were the people who carried out investigations on PM's activity to satisfy their paymaster, Nigeria government. But there is no course for alarm. Chukwu Okike is alive and the report will still be positive. Even Jesus said that the prince of this world has investigated him, but found nothing. Every soul that seeks the downfall of any genuine Biafran leader shall surely go low, and we shall mourn his passing.
I see!!!!!
