"The Blood of these Martyrs will be in your Hands", Moore Told Tinubu

US Congressman Riley Moore has issued a strong warning to President Bola Tinubu, stating that failure to protect Christians in Nigeria will have “significant consequences” for US-Nigeria relations.

In a post on X on Monday, Moore condemned the Palm Sunday attack in Jos where at least 10 Christians were reportedly killed. He wrote:

“This Palm Sunday, reports from Nigeria indicate that at least 10 Christians were martyred in the city of Jos. Radical Islamic terrorists opened fire on the Christians before hacking them to pieces with machetes… Abuja knows this pattern and they must massively ramp up security for the Tridduum and Easter. If they don’t take this threat seriously and mobilize to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ, blood of these martyrs will be on their hands, and there will be significant consequences for Nigeria’s relationship with the United States.”

Moore’s post included a retweet of a video by American activist Eyal Yakoby (also known as Alex Barbir), who was at the scene of the attack and directly confronted Tinubu, saying: “Tinubu, where are you? … You can no longer deny genocide… You will regret what you are doing.”

The development has sparked outrage in Nigeria, with many viewing the comments as unacceptable foreign interference and a direct threat to the President on Nigerian soil. Critics argue that such statements from US lawmakers and activists only worsen tensions in the volatile Plateau region.
