No injuries were reported, according to the local regional council.  "The incident ended in a great miracle," said Samaria Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan, "but it illustrates the urgent need to strengthen protection in the communities." IDF: New conflict with Iran to last several days, or may escalate to full-blown war

(photo credit: IDF SPOKESPERSON'S UNIT) Iran fired more than 20 ballistic missiles at Israel, as the IDF warned the renewed conflict could last several days and intensify further. The  IDF  on Monday said the newest conflict with Iran is expected to last at least a few days, and could still heat up into a return to full-blown war. As of 11:30 a.m., Iran has fired three salvos, which cumulatively have reached between  22 and 24 ballistic missiles  at Israel, while the Houthis in Yemen have fired two missiles. One of the Houthi missiles fell short of  Israeli  territory, while the other was shot down by the Israeli air defense. All of the Iranian missiles so far have either been shot down or fallen short. Underground hospitals, no school: Israel transitions to restricted activity mode after Iran strikes

(photo credit: AVSHALOM SASSONI) Following  rocket fire from Iran  and widespread alerts across the country, the  Home Front Command  announced on Sunday night that it was tightening its instructions and moving all defense areas to a state of “restricted activity.” The restrictions include a total closure of all educational institutions, cancellation of exams, and stricter limits on gatherings and workplaces. The updated policy is in effect from Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 10 p.m. until Monday, June 8, 2026, at 8 p.m. The Home Front Command will hold regular situation assessments to update the public.

Why Israel could not let Iran’s missile attack go unanswered

It was a deliberate Israeli response to a dangerous test by Tehran, and one that Jerusalem could not afford to leave unanswered. The immediate chain of events  began in Lebanon . On Sunday afternoon, the Israel Air Force struck Hezbollah targets in Dahiyeh, the Beirut stronghold of the Iranian-backed terror group. The strike followed continued Hezbollah violations of the US-brokered ceasefire announced last week, and came after warnings from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
