"Be Careful", Iran Warns US

Iran had issued a stern warning to the United States following President Donald Trump’s threat to strike the Islamic republic over its support for Hezbollah. This is even as the two countries held talks in Switzerland seeking a deal to permanently end the Middle East war. The negotiations are meant to trigger a 60-day period to settle broader issues that have dogged US-Iranian relations for decades. However, disagreement over key sticking points and the threat of renewed fighting in Lebanon weighed on the talks, with the US and Iran exchanging threats in parallel with the negotiations. “They would do better to be careful with their statements; our armed forces are ready to respond to them in a different manner. No matter what they say, we are the ones who act,” Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said. Strait of Hormuz remains closed to all ships 'until further notice

The Strait of Hormuz remains closed and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has not issued permission for any vessels to transit until further notice, Iran's  Fars News Agency  reported on Sunday, citing a military source. The United States and Iran had agreed to a 60-day ceasefire for peace deal negotiations, but Tehran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Saturday declared the Strait of Hormuz shut in response to Israeli strikes in Lebanon, though the US military said commercial vessels were still operating.

Netanyahu: Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons as long as I am Prime Minister

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that he will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons as long as he remains in his position, while speaking at a memorial service marking the 50th anniversary of the death of his brother, Lt.-Col. Yoni Netanyahu, on Sunday. “Whatever the political developments, I will not allow Iran to arm itself with nuclear weapons. As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, that will not happen,” Netanyahu asserted, adding that he has dedicated his life to this “sacred goal” since his brother’s death.

Iranian delegation backed out of handshake last second - source to ‘Post’

The Iranian delegation to Sunday’s negotiations in Switzerland initially agreed to a public handshake with the American team and even brought its own media crew to document the moment, a source familiar with the talks told  The Jerusalem Post .  However, Tehran backed out of the arrangement at the last minute, the source added. The Iranian delegation to the US-Iran negotiations in Switzerland is officially protesting US President Donald Trump’s earlier remarks on the country, state-run media reported Sunday. The Iranian negotiation team, lead by parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, is weighing options for a response, Press TV reported. Trump threatened to hit Iran with new strikes should it continue to support Hezbollah or close the Strait of Hormuz, in a post on Truth Social earlier on Sunday.
