Iranian delegation backed out of handshake last second - source to ‘Post’
The Iranian delegation to Sunday’s negotiations in Switzerland initially agreed to a public handshake with the American team and even brought its own media crew to document the moment, a source familiar with the talks told The Jerusalem Post.
However, Tehran backed out of the arrangement at the last minute, the source added.
The Iranian delegation to the US-Iran negotiations in Switzerland is officially protesting US President Donald Trump’s earlier remarks on the country, state-run media reported Sunday.
The Iranian negotiation team, lead by parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, is weighing options for a response, Press TV reported.
Trump threatened to hit Iran with new strikes should it continue to support Hezbollah or close the Strait of Hormuz, in a post on Truth Social earlier on Sunday.
