Iran accuses US of undermining trust with conflicting statements

Iran accused the US of making statements that diverged from the text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the countries, Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said on Wednesday.

“The contradictory statements by US officials will do nothing to reduce the accumulated distrust of Iranians and will merely serve as a reminder of past breaches of faith,” wrote Baqaei.

“Iranians know that the enemy's animosity will not end with the signing of a single agreement, and they will take every step with vigilance, bearing in mind the experiences of the past five decades, especially the developments of the last year and a half,” Baqaei added.

Earlier today, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran had agreed to IAEA nuclear inspectors entering the country, and that American inspectors would join, according to Fox News.
