On Sunday, Baghaei said the army chief of Pakistan, which has mediated between the United States and Iran, will visit Tehran on Monday. Free passage for cargo ships through the Strait of Hormuz has been one of the primary issues in talks with Iran, with Iran and the US frequently contradicting each other on whether the strait was open or closed and which country had control over it .

(photo credit: IDF SPOKESPERSON'S UNIT) The IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) killed the terrorist Ismail Abu Pul, commander of a weapons production site at Hamas's production headquarters, who took part in producing charges and anti-tank missiles for the terror organization in a strike on the Al-Maghazi area in Gaza, the military announced on Sunday.  In addition, the same production site, which was established near an aid distribution point for an international organization, was attacked, the military said, calling it an example of Hamas's systematic use of civilian infrastructure for the purpose of promoting and executing terrorist plots against IDF forces operating in the Yellow Line area and Israeli citizens.  The IDF also referred to Hamas's actions as systematically violating the ceasefire, while attempting to restore its military capabilities.

The Jerusalem Post could not locate the original video on Channel 3's platforms. The video, however, was linked on X/Twitter by anti-regime London-based journalist Niyak Ghorbani, and showed various locations Barron had been at specific points in the past, including Trump Tower and his school campus.

  The IDF arrested three terrorists for their involvement in an attack on a group of Israeli civilians who were hiking near the village of Sa'ir on Friday, Gush Etzion Municipality announced on Sunday. This is in addition to the arrest of three others who were arrested on Friday night in connection with the attack.  In a separate operation on Saturday night, two were arrested on suspicion of involvement in an attack on off-duty female soldiers who were hiking in Rashayda last Thursday.

  US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said that the seven-day average of oil leaving the Strait of Hormuz was over 8 million barrels a day, with the US military aiding in shipping 15 million barrels of oil and products out of the Strait on Tuesday in a post on X/Twitter on Friday.  That's down from more than 20 million per day before the war, or about one of every five barrels consumed worldwide. "Make no mistake, thanks to the US Navy, oil is flowing through the Strait of Hormuz," he wrote.

(photo credit: REUTERS/STRINGER) NATO 's top commander convened a videoconference earlier this week to facilitate possible contributions to support freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz , his spokesperson told Reuters , adding that this is not a NATO mission. “Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe hosted a meeting of interested Allies at the chief of defense level on Wednesday, 19 Aug 26, in order to facilitate their possible contributions to support freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," a spokesperson for the alliance's top commander US Air Force General Alexus Grynkewich said on Friday.
