The bodies of four hostages arrived at the forensic facility on Monday night, where experts will confirm the identities of the hostages and the cause of death.

During the last hostage release, Hamas sent the body of an unknown woman in place of Shiri Bibas. The body of Shiri was later sent through the Red Cross. Israeli forces have received all four of the coffins of the deceased hostages that Hamas said it would return on Monday evening.

"Four coffins of deceased hostages are currently being escorted by IDF and ISA forces on their way to Israel, where they will be transferred to the National Center of Forensic Medicine for identification procedures," the military said in a statement, urging the public to act with sensitivity.

Before crossing into Israeli territory, a military protocol will be held in the Gaza Strip in their memory. During the protocol, IDF soldiers will drape the hostages’ coffins with Israeli flags, salute them, and recite a chapter from the Book of Psalms.

"Hamas is required to uphold the agreement and take the necessary steps to return all the deceased hostages," the IDF added.

Hamas says it will only return four bodies, disregarding Trump agreement

Earlier on Monday, Hamas said that it would return the bodies of Bipin Joshi, Yossi Sharabi, Guy Illouz, and Daniel Peretz.

Before this, Hamas had agreed to release all of the hostages, living and deceased, in Gaza.

In response, the Hostage Families Forum called on the Israeli government to immediately suspend the agreement with Hamas until every deceased hostage was returned.

"Hamas's violation of the agreement must be met with a very serious response from the government and the mediators," a statement from the forum reads
