Avinatan Or, the 32-year-old partner of rescued hostage Noa Argamani, was abducted from the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023. Or had reportedly had the opportunity to escape but did not want to leave behind his girlfriend “at the hands of the monsters,” his mother, Ditza Or, told the Jewish Chronicle.Or, an electrical engineer for Nvidia and a graduate of Ben-Gurion University, was seen alive by one of the released hostages secured in the last Israel-Hamas ceasefire. His family has received several signs of life throughout his captivity.

The Nimrodi family is the only hostage family not to be told if their loved one will be returning alive or not, Tamir’s mother, Herut, told BBC News earlier this week.
Omri Miran
Omri Miran was abducted in front of his wife and two children by invading terrorists on October 7, 2023, from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Bar Kupershtein
Bar Abraham Kupershtein was working at the Nova Music Festival on October 7, 2023, when Hamas invaded southern Israel. Eitan Mor
Eitan Mor, 25, was working security at the Nova Music Festival when Hamas invaded and took him to Gaza. His family, who didn't know he was working at the festival, waited months to hear news of what had happened to him. Before being taken, he texted his uncle about attempting to hide from the terrorists.Little was heard from Mor for months. His family knew only that he was last seen trying to help festivalgoers escape terrorists along with his friends. Signs of life were received from Mor in March 2024 and again in February 2025 from a released hostage.
Mor’s father is the co-founder of the Tikva forum, a group of hostage families that has been generally critical of a hostage-ceasefire deal that would leave any captives behind. However, the Mor family are one of several to soften their stance on a deal after seeing the critical health condition of Or Levy, Eli Sharabi, and Ohad Ben Ami during their release.
Matan Angrest
Matan Angrest, 22, was physically abused by terrorists from the moment they pulled him limp from a tank in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Footage released from October 7 revealed invading terrorists kicking him, and testimonies released from captivity have revealed that the abuse Angrest has suffered only increased once he was taken to Gaza.Angrest suffers from asthma, something worsened by the damp and humid conditions in the tunnels Hamas keeps hostages in. Hostages have recounted how Angrest suffers from shortness of breath after Hamas tortures him during violent interrogation sessions, and only then is he allowed to temporarily leave the tunnels to catch his breath.
Nimrod Cohen
Nimrod Cohen was only 19 when Hamas abducted him from a burning tank near Kibbutz Nir Im on October 7, 2023, along with the murdered bodies of fellow armored corps soldiers. It is currently believed that Nimrod is alive and was most recently known to be held in the Khan Yunis area, according to the United Nations. Guy Gilboa-Dalal
Guy Gilboa-Dalal was enjoying the Nova Music Festival with his brother Gal when the brothers were forced to flee in their separate vehicles. While Gal was able to escape, his brother was captured, and the same day, Hamas released footage of Gilboa-Dalal tied up in a tunnel in Gaza.As part of the psychological torture Gilboa-Dalal suffered in Hamas captivity, terrorists forced him and his friend Evyatar David to watch the release of hostages in the past deal after promising they would return home.
Rom Braslavski
German-Israeli hostage Rom Braslavski, 21, was abducted while fighting off invading terrorists at the Nova Music Festival, where he was working security. Survivors told his family that, despite having injuries on both his hands, he guided them to safety.Since his abduction, Rom’s condition has seemingly deteriorated under the harsh, torturous conditions imposed by Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The terror group and Hamas ally published a video of him looking emaciated in July, complaining of injuries to his foot, which prevented him from standing.
After two years of starvation, Rom's current weight is estimated to be 43-47 kg, a decrease of around 31%, according to The Health Division of the Hostages and Missing Families Forum in August.
Evyatar David
Evyatar David was 22 when he was abducted from the Nova Music Festival in Re’im in southern Israel. He was enjoying the music with three friends, two of whom were murdered by the invading terrorists and one of whom, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, also remains in Hamas captivity. Those able to escape the massacre told David’s cousin Jonathan Guttman that David had helped people flee and had stayed behind to help rescue the wounded, Gutman told NBC News only a month after his cousin’s abduction.
Released hostages have also shared testimonies on the harsh psychological and physical torture endured by David and Gilboa-Dalal. Released hostage Tal Shoham told Channel 12 in July that Gilboa-Dalal and David were suffering in “horrific” conditions from malnutrition and were subjected to intense physical abuse. The pair had been bound and forced to sit facing a wall with black sacks over their heads for extended periods and denied access to water.

Released hostages have confirmed that Bohbot was chained, starved, and isolated during his time in Gaza.
Matan Zangauker
Matan Zangauker was abducted from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz, where he was living with his girlfriend, Ilana Gritzewsky. As the pair heard terrorists breaking into their home on October 7, 2023, Zangauker held the safe room door firmly shut so Gretzewsky could escape through the window. While he followed her out, dressed only in pyjamas and socks, the pair were quickly captured and taken hostage in Gaza.American-Israeli released hostage Edan Alexander, Zangauker’s family shared in May, said that Zangauker was suffering from weight loss, intense abdominal pain, and severe mental distress. He is thought to have developed a degenerative muscle disease that runs in his family.
Matan's mother, Einav, has been vocal in demanding a deal for her son's return, despite receiving death threats and being assaulted for her efforts.
Yosef-Chaim Ohana
Yosef-Chaim Ohana, 24, was taken from the Nova Music Festival, where he and his friends were celebrating his upcoming journey to the United States. He was set to begin a piloting course.Ohana and his friends had the opportunity to escape but stayed behind to help provide aid to those wounded by the invading terrorists. Segev Kalfon
Segev Kalfon, 26, was abducted from the Nova Music Festival, and his family only learned he was still alive in February of this year when a released hostage contacted them.Ohad Ben Ami told the family he was alive, though in poor and deteriorating condition. Before his abduction, the IDF veteran already suffered from PTSD and orthopaedic injuries.
Maxim Herkin
Ukrainian-Israeli national Maxim Herkin, 37, was abducted from the Nova Music Festival and was last seen in a hostage video published in April.Herkin immigrated to Israel with his mother, Tala, and 11-year-old brother Peter from Ukraine but has a partner and infant child living in Russia.
Ziv and Gali Berman
German-Israeli twins Ziv and Gali Berman were abducted minutes apart from Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Gali was abducted from the home of former hostage Emily Damari, whom he had rushed to protect with only a kitchen knife after learning of the invasion. Not long after his brother’s abduction, terrorists set fire to Ziv’s home, forcing him to flee from his saferoom and into the hands of his kidnappers.
The pair were confirmed alive in February, though survivor testimonies indicate that Ziv and Gali were separated in captivity.
