Nigerian Terrorists Kills a Pastor after Collecting N5m Ransom

The cleric was abducted from Ekati village in the Patigi Local Government Area on August 28, 2025. For weeks, his family, church members, and community struggled to raise money demanded by the kidnappers in hopes of securing his release.

Sources told Nupeko TV that the gunmen initially demanded ₦100 million for his freedom. After tense negotiations, the ransom was reduced to ₦5 million, which was eventually paid by the impoverished community in a desperate attempt to save the pastor.

However, after collecting the ₦5 million, the bandits displayed shocking cruelty by demanding an additional ₦45 million.

Before any further negotiations could take place, they killed the cleric.

Nupeko TV reported: “The distraught family and community were reportedly able to negotiate the ransom down to ₦5 million, which they paid in an effort to secure the pastor’s freedom.

“After collecting the ₦5 million, the bandits reportedly exhibited extreme cruelty by demanding an additional ₦45 million.

“Tragically, before any further negotiation could take place, Rev. James Audu Issa was killed by the criminal gang.”

The outlet described the killing as a “ransom-for-murder” case — a situation where victims are killed even after families bankrupt themselves to pay ransom.

The pastor’s death has been described as a devastating blow to the Ekati community and the wider Patigi Emirate, further deepening despair and insecurity in the region. #Terrorists
