Saudi Arabia seeks allies against the Houthis, but will it turn to Israel? - analysis

You give, you get. You don’t give, don’t expect much. Israel has given a lot and, in return, gotten a lot. It has fought wing to wing with the US in Iran, provided valuable intelligence and demonstrated the military capabilities Washington wants to see in an ally. In April, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, “To our Israeli allies, thanks for being a brave, capable and willing ally on this battlefield. The rest of the world and the rest of our so-called allies saw what real capabilities look like. President of the United States, Donald Trump. Photo: The White House United States President Donald Trump on Sunday announced an immediate “energy ceasefire” between Russia and Ukraine, saying both sides had agreed to halt attacks targeting energy infrastructure. The attack is part of a growing campaign by the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen targeting Saudi Arabia’s airports and civilian infrastructure. It comes as fighting intensifies in Yemen and maritime security concerns spread across the Gulf. This deadly attack will require a response. The attack was designed to spread terror and strike at strategic infrastructure. Similar to how Iran targeted US bases in the region, Iran’s allies in Yemen are seeking to disrupt civilian life in Saudi Arabia by getting airports closed and flights canceled.
