America Visa Ban to some Nigerians a Ridicle of Democracy - Onyeji Nnaji

It is sickly for the United States of America to shamelessly decide to place visa ban on a selected number of Nigerians. I refused to say anything when I saw the tweet of the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken,  on Monday, 15th May, 2023.

In the tweet, Blinken said, "We have imposed visa restrictions on specific individuals who undermined the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 elections. We remain committed to supporting Nigerian aspirations to strengthen democracy and rule of law."

Biden's administration has shown itself laughably ridiculous by banning Nigerians over the same act which it is the pace setter. I don't see any conscience in any US Democrat president speaking against the Nigerian APC electioneering process when they are their adviser and teacher.

In the press release, Blinken was heard saying that “the United States is committed to supporting and advancing democracy in Nigeria and around the world.

Do you believe him in this? I think not.

Blinken knows clearly that he is enjoying the stolen mandate of president Trump over the same electioneering process that has just produced Tinubu. Where is the justice? On what is the conscience when you punish another on the same crime you are a culprit.

As for the US commitment to supporting Nigerian democracy and around Africa, there is no doubt. But what manner of support the US has been giving to Nigeria should be of concern here. Is it the support that removed Goodluck and gave Nigeria Buhari or the support that killed Gadafi and turned Lybia to a shared of a country?

Quote me anywher, no Democrat president, apart from Obama's first tenure, emerged through genuine electioneering process. They all rigged there ways in.
