Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) said Afghans being evacuated would be welcomed into the U.S. as long as they are “fully vetted.” While appearing on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, the Republican senator said its extremely important to make sure the refugees are vetted before touching down on American soil.

Ernst added, that’s why it’s key the U.S. continues working with third country nations and provide support for whatever they need. She went on to blame Joe Biden for the crisis.

Her remarks come as Biden said thousands have been evacuated, but cannot give a precise number on how many Americans remain in the war torn country.
