Man Utd backed to sell Paul Pogba to Real Madrid by Wayne Rooney on one condition

Pogba

That’s the opinion of former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.
Paul Pogba has been tipped to leave United this summer, with the Frenchman catching the eye of Real Madrid.
But after splashing out nearly £275million so far this summer, Madrid have little to play with in the transfer market.
That’s left Pogba in an awkward condition, after he publicly suggested that he wanted to leave Old Trafford.
During a pre-season event in China, the midfielder said he wanted to explore a new challenge, hinting that his time in England was done.
Madrid always seemed like the most likely destination, and manager Zinedine Zidane is apparently a big fan of the 26-year-old.
United are currently in the middle of a squad overhaul, having splashed out £67m on 21-year-old pair Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
With deals for Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes believed to be close, it has been suggested by some that they should offload Pogba to make way and clear funds.

And Rooney explained to ESPN that he feels the decision should be made by the team and the player.
“Should they? It’s obviously down to the club, the board, the manager but also the player,” he said.
“I think if the player wants to stay, he’ll stay and prove what a good player he is.
“Again I think behind the scenes I’m sure they’re working on ways whether it’s to keep him or to let him go.”
