Boris Johnson has said "his job is to serve the people" as he becomes the UK's new prime minister.
Speaking outside Downing Street after accepting The Queen's invitation to form a government, he said he wanted to "change the country for the better".
He said the UK would leave the EU on 31 October "no ifs, no buts", adding: "The buck stops with me."
Mr Johnson took over after Theresa May handed in her resignation to the Queen a short time ago.
The new PM will then begin putting together his cabinet - a number of Mrs May's senior ministers have already resigned, having said they could not serve under him.
As she relinquished power after three years, Mrs May said being prime minister had been "the greatest honour" and wished her successor well.
In a farewell speech outside No 10, she said his government's "successes will be our country's successes".

Mr Johnson's audience with Queen Elizabeth II lasted more than half an hour.
During his journey to Buckingham Palace, his car was briefly held up by protesters from Greenpeace, who formed a human chain across The Mall.
Mr Johnson's partner, Carrie Symonds, and key members of his staff are awaiting the new prime minister's arrival in Downing Street.

Tulsi Gabbard says impeachment of Trump would be 'terribly divisive' for country

As many of her House Democratic colleagues decided to back the impeachment of President Donald Trump, Democratic Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard on Tuesday said she doesn't support the move because it would be "terribly divisive" for an "already very divided" United States. "Look, my position remains the same.                   INTRODUCTION In the history of syntax, prepositions alongside other parts of speech are considered as one of the esteemed contributions of the sophists (the itinerant teachers) to the development of the human language. Etymologically, the term “preposition” belonged to the group of word class Aristotle, the founder, referred to as “syndesmoi”. Others in this group are conjunction , article and pronoun . They were thus grouped by Aristotle because they were found to be performing related functions that are summed up in binding terms and exposing the gaps amidst sentences when they are not included. As a plural term, “syndesmoi” is a collective noun that stands for the group while, conjunction , the part of speech that binds together the discourse and finds gaps in its interpretation was called “syndesmos” (see Robins, 1968).
