Transfer news LIVE as Rangers and Celtic plus Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs make signings

It's another busy day in the summer transfer window as clubs across the country get their business done early before the window shuts.
Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney's proposed move to Arsenal is off, while Napoli have reportedly backed down after only wanting to fork out £19m. Neil Lennon's been busy trying to bring players in as well, despite a proposed trial for Danny Simpson falling through. The Hoops still want to sign Brentford midfielder Romaine Sawyers, who West Brom are also eyeing up. Right-back Hatem Abd Elhamed looks like he'll be coming in through the doors at Celtic Park shortly as well.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard insists he'll wait until the last minute of the transfer window to secure his top target Liverpool winger Ryan Kent. Selling the likes of Graham Dorrans, Jason Holt, Kyle Lafferty and Eros Grezda - who has been linked with several French clubs - may help fund a move for Kent. Daniel Candeias left for Turkey yesterday, and managing director Stewart Robertson insisted there will be funds available to replace him.
Elsewhere Stevie May looks set for St Johnstone after agreeing to cancel his Aberdeen contract, while Steven Naismith is still wanted by Hearts.
In England, Manchester United's proposed sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan looks to have fallen through after not meeting the Red Devils' valuation of the striker.
Stay tuned for all that and more LIVE throughout the day.

Romelu Lukaku’s move from Manchester United to Inter Milan is off.
The two clubs failed to agree a final fee according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, and the Italian giants have now reportedly turned their attentions elsewhere.
United were holding out for £75million for the Belgian striker, but Inter are now looking at Roma’s Edin Dzeko and Lille forward Rafael Leao as cheaper alternatives.

Gareth Bale’s agent insists he won’t be leaving Real Madrid on loan this summer.
Following a fallout with Zinedine Zidane the Madrid boss appeared to confirm Bale’s exit from the Bernabeu was close at the weekend, saying talks were progressing well with other clubs, with big interest in the forward from China.
He was left out of Spanish side’s squad in their pre-season loss to Bayern on Saturday, although Zidane says he will be involved against Arsenal tonight.
But his Jonathan Barnett says the Welsh star won’t be leaving unless it’s on a permanent deal.
He told Sky Sports News:
There will be no makeshift deals to get him out of the club,.
Gareth is one of the best players on the planet. I can guarantee you he will not be going on loan to any club.
Gareth is a Real Madrid player and for now he’s staying as a Real Madrid player.
If something comes along that suits us, then things could change and he could be gone in a day or a week. Or he could still be a Real player in three years when his contract ends.

Napoli's Tierney 'valuation'

(Image: SNS Group)
Napoli were reportedly prepared to pay no more than £19million for Kieran Tierney amid claims they’ve abandoned their interest in the Celtic star.
Arsenal also look set to exit the running after having a third offer rejected by the Premiership champions.
The Daily Mail reported Napoli had decided against firming up their interest in the Scotland international, with their valuation of Tierney seemingly well short of Celtic’s £25million price-tag.

DONE DEAL! Omeonga ends Hibs hopes

Stephane Omeonga has ended faint hopes of a Hibs return as he joined Circle Brugge on-loan.
He’s agreed a one-year switch to the Belgian side, who have an option to buy next year.
Paul Heckingbottom declared last week Hibs’ transfer business was likely done for the summer and he’ll only dip back into the market in certain circumstances.
Some supporters had been optimistic Omeonga would head back to Easter Road but the arrival of Josh Vela appeared to torpedo those hopes and now Omeonga’s next move has been confirmed.eonga

Ex-Celts target Odegaard reveals ambition

(Image: Getty Images Europe)
Former Celtic target Martin Odegaard hasn’t given up on achieving his Real Madrid dream.
Perhaps the most sought after youngster in Europe just a few years ago, the Norwegian has so far failed to make the grade at the Bernabeu and has been shipped out on a series of loans.
Ronny Deila launched an ambitious move to bring him to Parkhead in 2015 as he hovered between Madrid’s first team and the reserve setup.
Odegaard has since had two spells in Holland with Heerenveen and Vitesse before joining Real Sociedad on a two-year loan for this season.
At just 20, he still retains hope of making it big in the Spanish capital.
I have a contract with Real Madrid, I have extended it before coming to Real Sociedad, and my goal is to play one day at Real Madrid, but now I think the best step for me is to do it at Sociedad.
I want to give my best level in Real, that is my main objective, and then it will be seen, but of course I dream of playing someday in Real Madrid.
(On transfer interest) I will not specify the names of the clubs, but there were options for some who are in the Champions League and the Europa League

United agree Bouhenna exit deal

(Image: SNS)
Dundee United have agreed a deal to sell Rachid Bouhenna to Romanian side Sepsi OSK, writes Scott Burns.
The Tangerines have also let Callum Booth join Bury.
The Championship side are looking to balance the books after investing heavily to bring in top talent like Lawrence Shankland, Adrian Sporle, Liam Smith and Adam King.
United will recoup some money by selling 28-year-old Bouhenna to former boss Csaba Laszlo at Sepsi for an undisclosed fee after the stopper snubbed a move to Saudi Arabi’s Abha.
Left-back Booth has also been deemed surplus to requirements since Sporle has come in. The 28-year-old, who has also had spells at Hibs and Partick Thistle, is set to move to Gigg Lane.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old United kid Declan Glass has joined Cove Rangers on loan until January – and will be in the squad for tonight’s Betfred Cup tie against Caley Thistle.

Zidane hits back in Bale saga

(Image: AFLO/Press Association Images)
Zinedine Zidane has denied showing Gareth Bale a lack of respect and claimed the winger refused to come on as a sub in Sunday’s friendly against Bayern Munich.
The Welshman looks bound for the exit at Real Madrid after his boss appeared to try and publicly accelerate his departure, insisting it would be “best for everyone”.
Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett reacted angrily to Zidane’s comments but the Frenchman insists he’s done nothing wrong.
I haven’t shown a lack of respect towards anyone. What I said the other day is that the club was working on Bale’s exit.
I’ve always said the same thing: the players are the most important ones in all of this. Whenever there’s a player involved, I’ll always back them.
Gareth didn’t come on (against Bayern Munich) because he didn’t want to, and he said it was because the club was working on his exit.
The club is doing what it has to and that’s all there is to it. Bale is currently part of the squad and I respect that. That’s the most important thing for me.

Beale's message to Candeias

Michael Beale has sent a message to Daniel Candeias following his Rangers exit.
The Portuguese winger has joined Turkish side Genclerbirligi for a fee believed to be around £250,000.
Beale only worked with Candeias for one season but he was involved in a few memorable moments - not least setting up Alfredo Morelos to round off a Europa League win over Rapid Vienna.
The Rangers coach took to Twitter to wish his now former player all the best.

Bruno Fernandes has refused to rule out leaving Sporting Lisbon amid interest from Manchester United .
The midfielder admits he may have played his last game for the Portuguese side as he reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League .
United are believed to be reluctant to match Sporting’s huge valuation of the player after club president Frederico Varandas insisted potential suitors would have to pay over £56million.
Sporting headed to New York ahead of a pre-season friendly with Liverpool and Fernandes was swarmed by reporters at the airport.

Vela on Bolton hell

(Image: SNS)
Josh Vela has lifted the lid on the 18 months of hell he endured at Bolton.
The 25-year-old Hibs midfielder revealed he was forced to dip into his own savings after going FIVE months without pay.
The well-documented financial struggles saw the Bolton players eventually downing tools in March as the club were plunged into administration and relegated to League One.
Despite all the heartache Vela admits it was still a wrench to leave Bolton after a 17 year-association.
Levein provides Naisy update
(Image: SNS Group)
Craig Levein has told Hearts fans he’s hopeful Steven Naismith will feature in their Premiership opener but revealed Peter Haring has been ruled out for two months.
Naismith’s contract with Norwich expired at the end of June but he has yet to put pen to paper on a contract at Tynecastle.
The Scotland frontman has spent 18 months on loan at Hearts, across two separate spells, and scored 16 goals in 31 appearances last season.
Naismith, 32, has returned to full training after undergoing a knee operation on his cartilage and Jambos boss Levein has high hopes he’ll be on a new deal in time for the curtain raiser at Pittodrie on August 4.
We need to do the contract stuff first but he’s close. Naisy is back in full training.
If there’s a reserve game next week he could take part in a bit of that.
Austrian Haring will now be sidelined for up to eight weeks as he attempts to get to the root cause of his ongoing pelvic problem.
It looks like Peter is going to be out for a couple of months. That is what we expected and we’re going to treat it conservatively and give him a bit longer to rest up.
Bringing him back for the Scottish Cup Final was the reason it didn’t clear up.

(Image: SNS Group)
Arsenal have decided against making a further move for Kieran Tierney after having a third bid rejected.
The 22-year-old full back is the subject of numerous offers from the English Premier League side but they’ve decided they won’t be making any more.
The Celtic defender is understood to be interested in a move but is unwilling to push for an exit from his boyhood heroes.
And Arsenal have decided they need to walk away from the deal and look elsewhere.
