Lagos to discharge six coronavirus patients


Six out of the 30 patients that are being treated for coronavirus in Lagos State have recovered and will soon be discharged by the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Lagos. 

This is according to Tunde Ajayi, the special assistant to the Lagos state governor on health, who disclosed the news on his Twitter handle @thetundeajayi on Thursday afternoon.

“Six of our #COVID19 inpatients have recovered and will be discharged soon. There is something Lagos is doing right. Lagos takes the lead”, he posted.

This brings the total number of those who have recovered from the virus so far to eight people. 

The total number of confirmed cases as at Wednesday according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is 51. The Virus has hit eight states and the federal capital territory (FCT). 

Lagos state is the worst hit by the virus in Nigeria so far with a total of 30 cases, followed by the Federal Capital Territory with 10 cases and Ogun, three. 

Ekiti, Oyo, Edo, Bauchi, Osun, and Rivers all have one case each. Nigeria recorded its first casualty from the virus on Monday 23rd March, 2020.
