U.S. warns of increased Houthi and Iranian aggression,

The United States Department of State warned of increased aggression from Iran and the Iranian-backed Houthis terrorist group in updated travel advisories issued for many Middle Eastern countries.
On Friday, the department explained that the advisory level and indicators of risk had not changed, but the summaries were amended to include the potential for increased targeting of U.S. officials in the region.
“Advisory summary was updated to reflect an increase in potential armed attacks by the Iranian-supported Houthis and Iranian efforts to target U.S. government officials in the region,” the advisories read.
The update was issued for numerous Middle Eastern nations, including Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Yemen, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq and Israel.
Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran and Iraq are currently under “Level 4 – Do not travel” designations by the U.S. State Department. The other countries are under “Level 3 – Reconsider travel” designations, though some regions retain the higher “Level 4” label.
