IDF strikes city of Tyre in southern Lebanon, following surge in Hezbollah drone attacks

(photo credit: NATI SHOHAT/FLASH90) The IDF struck the city of Tyre late Monday after multiple public warnings that it would do so, following an increase in  Hezbollah  drone strikes against Israelis. Tyre is in the southern half of the country, but is beyond the smaller security zone strip within southern Lebanon which the IDF took over in March, and the absence of the IDF in that spot allows Hezbollah to  launch attacks from there . Iran's president orders reopening of international internet acces

The report cited the head of public relations at  Iran ’s Communications Ministry. The mechanism for how and when Iran would reconnect to the global web following the decision was unknown. IDF issues evacuation order for 10 villages in southern Lebanon

IDF Arabic Spokesperson Col. (res.) Avichay Adraee issued an evacuation warning to 10 villages in southern Lebanon over X/Twitter on Monday morning.  The villages include Al-Nabatieh al-Tahta, Al-Luwayzah, Sajd, Ain Kana, Harouf, Zabdin, Kafr Ruman, Al-Duwayr, Adasit al-Shaqif, and Midun. Civilians must stay at least 1,000 meters away from the populated areas, Adraee warned, as “anyone present near Hezbollah elements, their facilities, and their combat means exposes their life to danger!”

Sgt. Nehoray Leizer killed in combat in southern Lebanon

Nehoray Leizer, 19, from Eilat, was killed during combat in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced on Monday.  Leizer was a combat soldier in the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion's 401st Brigade. IDF maintaining high alert level despite potential US-Iran deal, but reducing mobilized reservists

Some officers received a message that they must remain attentive and alert to any calls to return to service, but do not have to come to the headquarters. Senior IDF officers claim that, in their assessment,  Israel’s political echelon  has been excluded from the core of the US-Iran negotiations. Despite the many updates on a potential deal, it is impossible to know whether there has truly been progress or whether each side is merely trying to pressure the other.
