IDF strikes city of Tyre in southern Lebanon, following surge in Hezbollah drone attacks

The IDF struck the city of Tyre late Monday after multiple public warnings that it would do so, following an increase in Hezbollah drone strikes against Israelis.

Tyre is in the southern half of the country, but is beyond the smaller security zone strip within southern Lebanon which the IDF took over in March, and the absence of the IDF in that spot allows Hezbollah to launch attacks from there.

In fact, the IDF had begun attacking Tyre in recent days with long-range strikes and appeared ready to up the ante this week.
