Bahrain to hold joint military exercise with Gulf states


Bahrain announced Monday that it would hold a joint military exercise with armed forces from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states from Tuesday to Thursday.

According to Iran International, the Bahrain Defense Force said the drills, called the "Bahrain Shield" exercise, would "improve combat performance levels" and strengthen "the cooperation framework and joint military coordination to face various challenges."

Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are members of the GCC, but the military did not specify which countries would attend
