According to a statement released on Friday, the IDF carried out a strike in the southern Gaza Strip, killing Yahya Saeed Mohammed Hamdan, a commander of the Nukhba cell in Hamas' military wing, on Thursday. 
 
Hamdan was involved in the infiltration of the Re'im military base during the massacre on October 7th. 

In recent months, he had reportedly increased attacks against IDF troops and aimed to restore the operational capabilities of the Hamas terrorist organization.
 
The IDF also stated that before the strike, measures were taken to minimize harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
