Sen. Abaribe Challenges Tinubu's Military Inversion of Benin Republic

Political tension is rising after Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe sharply criticized

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over what he described as Nigeria’s willingness to bow to foreign pressure amid reported unrest in Benin Republic.

Abaribe claimed that France had allegedly pushed for a forceful intervention in Benin and accused Nigeria of being ready to comply.
“France says, ‘bomb them,’

and Nigeria obeys,” he told journalists on Monday.

He drew parallels to past international incidents, recalling how Nigerians once pleaded with former U.S. President Donald Trump to avoid similar actions.

“This is how people still ask how slavery happened. Just look around today,” he said.
