Information related on the Jerusalem Post reveals that the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu submitted the nomination of Maj.-Gen. (ret.) David Zini appeared before the Advisory Committee for Senior Appointments, also known as the Grunis Committee, as a candidate for the position of Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief.

In his letter to the committee, Netanyahu wrote, “After examining several candidates from within the service and from other security organizations, and in light of the implications of the October 7 attacks on the Israel Security Agency, I decided to appoint a new director who comes from outside the organization.”
